Hair Mayonnaise Treatment for Natural Hair

Here are video tutorials I did for my Hair Mayonnaise Treatment, written instructions included.

Video 1 How to make Hair Mayonnaise Treatment

How to make Hair Mayonnaise Treatment (written instructions)
You will need

* Hellman's Mayonnaise (amount your hair needs depending on length and thickness)
*Olive Oil (2-3 tbsp)
*Egg (1-2 depending on how much mayo you use)
*Tea Tree Oil (just a few drops)
*Plastic container
*Spoon

How to mix

Add all ingredients above to plastic container and mix with spoon until properly combined.  Let sit for about a hour or until warm as the mayo and egg will be cold from being in the refrigerator.

Video 2 How to apply Hair Mayonnaise Treatment

How to apply Hair Mayonnaise Treatment (written instructions)
You will need

*Old t-shirt or black styling cape
*Wide teeth comb
*Rat tail comb
*Duckbill hair clips
*Old shopping plastic bag or throw away plastic cap
*Scissors
*Dye brush

Prepare your area where you will be applying the hair mayonnaise, make sure you have all the stuff you will need.  It is best to do this in your bathroom so that you can run water in your sink and leave it there.  You will need this water to rinse your hands of excess mayo and shedded hair.

How to apply (if your hair is naturally straight or doesn't tangle easily when wet)
*Detangle/comb hair all over
*Apply mayo mixture to hair with dye brush or hands
*You can just wrap your hair up into the plastic bag or plastic cap
*Leave on for 1 hr
*Rinse hair in your kitchen sink with lukewarm, cool or cold water DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR THE EGG WILL COOK IN YOUR HAIR.  The cook egg won't damage your hair, it will be difficult to remove.
*Then shampoo and condition your hair with the products of your choice
*Style hair in the desired style you like

How to apply (if your hair is natural and tangles easily)
*Your hair should be in loose twists or braids
*Detangle each section and twist or braid back
*After you've detangled your entire head you can start applying mayo to each section
*Once you apply the mayo to the section braid the section back and secure with duckbill clips
*Place plastic bag or plastic cap on your head
*Leave on for 1 hr
*Rinse hair in your kitchen sink with lukewarm, cool or cold water DO NOT USE HOT WATER OR THE EGG WILL COOK IN YOUR HAIR.  The cook egg won't damage your hair, it will be difficult to remove.
*Shampoo and Condition hair with a shampoo that will not strip your hair of oils and make it dry and brittle.
I now use Black Soap Shampoo w/ Shea Butter and Honey from http://www.butters-n-bars.com/
*Style hair in the desired style you like

Other tips
*If you find any knots in your hair use the scissors to clip it
*If you didn't detangle your hair before applying mayonnaise treatment you can detangle it with the mayo on it.  I detangle my hair very gently with the rat tail comb and started combing from the ends working my way up to the roots in small sections.  I've now learned that it is much easier to apply this treatment when your hair is flat ironed.
*I trimmed my 4a hair in it's natural state with the mayo treatment in my hair and found it very easy to do because the mayo treatment is like conditioner.  You can just trim your ends when it is flat ironed, add water to each section and trim it, or with detangler or conditioner.  Anything that will elongate the hair and soften it will do.

My Results After Using Hair Mayonnaise Treatment

*It made my hair stronger
*Less breakage
*Made it softer once I used a shampoo that didn't strip my hair of moisture

I give the Hair Mayonnaise Treatment a 4/5 star rating.
