The Curly Girl Method Does Work My Daughters Journey

I decided to try the curly method on my hair, but knew after reading about it that it would be perfect for my daughters hair.

The pictures below shows how my daughters hair looks before I do the curly girl method.  This is how her hair looks in the afternoon when she comes home from school, I know it looks frizzy, but her curls are starting to coil more.

The picture below shows how her hair looks when I do the curly girl method on her hair without having to use gel.  I rinse her hair with water, then I apply giovanni conditioner to her hair.  I detangle her hair in sections using my fingers only, because of her hair type I have to do this every day or every other day.  I leave the conditioner in her hair.

After I noticed how dry my daughter hair is in the evening when she comes home from school, I decided to add a oil mixture to her hair.  The picture below shows how her hair looks in the evening, since I started adding the oil after applying water to refresh her hair in the morning and leave in.

Because my daughter doesn't like sleeping with anything on her head and sometimes I do her hair to late to allow it to dry it doesn't always look the seem in the morning.  So I refresh it with water, or add some leave in.


I no longer have to use a brush, or comb to style her hair.  Which means that after awhile her curls will continue to become less frizzy and more define.  The method is very easy to do, the more you do it the hair won't be as tangle, even though you are just using your hands to finger detangle.


We were at the beach this week Saturday and Sunday and her curls where popping.

How I Came To Learn About This Method


So I came across a article recently, now I've come across this method before, but didn't really read all about or how it actually worked.  It's very simply though, you use conditioner instead of shampoo to cleanse your hair.  You do it as often as you need it and you leave some or all of the conditioner in your hair.  You don't use comb's, brushes, and no heating tools to style your hair.  You can use gel to help style your hair.  The book explains what types of ingredients you should look for in your products and what shouldn't be there.

So I've had some practice so I know what I need.  I want a wig or to create a wig that is similar to how my natural hair was or that has beautiful curls, but it needs to be great quality and easy to manage.  Watching Taren on Youtube showing of her wig that she had custom made by Hair Rules only set the fire under me to find away to create my own.

So then my search began and ended into 2:30am last night, but I think I've found some leads that you guy's would appreciate.  One of the sites is a new one I found, but the other I've been checking for awhile.

I got a lead from Essence online to check out this site https://www.indiquehair.com/ if you wanted Kelly's look.  This was the link to the hair that they felt match similar to what Kelly Rowland's is wearing.  After checking it out I checked some other styles that they have.  I also realized that their hair has been worn by alot of celebrity's, so I checked it out.  Then I found Teyana Taylor listed and the hair they said she used is the Bounce Deep Wave.

Now I want to share a great site I came across recommended by a hairstylist on Youtube that is very passionate about her work.  The site is called Halleyscurls, check out their fotki album with tons of women wearing the hair and giving reviews.  Also check them out on twitter for customers honest feedback.  I will be purchasing the creole curly to achieve the wig that I want.  With quality hair like this you should sew it onto the wig cap.  I'm going to try and  make the wig with 3 packs of hair.  I may need 4 but I don't know if I can afford it.

I will also be purchasing my wig cap, t-pins, etc to help me create the wigs from goldenmartbeautysupply.

My Hair Crush Teyana Taylor

So I've had long hair already and I've rocked the curly twist out, but not as big as Teyana Taylor.  When I grow my natural hair back out every now and then I'm going to flat iron my hair and put bantu knots, do a twist out, or even try curl formers to achieve this look.  I like how Teyana Taylor curls look whether it's her hair or a weave.  It looks so GORGEOUS.
