Viola Davis Natural Hair At The Oscars

Viola Davis

Viola showed up at the Oscar's with a green Vera Wang dress, which to me complimented her beautiful and fit body.  Me and my mom couldn't stop talking about how fit her body is.  She of course showed of her natural short hair cut, she told E's Ryan Seacrest that her mom did her hair.  Go mom, applauds!!!  Her husband who encouraged her to wear her hair natural, looked so proud and in love with his wife on the red carpet.  She truly was stunning from head to toe.

Unfortunately she did not win the Oscar for Best Female Actress, Meryl Streep got it for her role in the Iron Lady where she played Margaret Thatcher.  According to http://theenvelope.latimes.com/ a story written by Steven Zeitchik he say's that most times women who play real life character's win the role.  Viola Davis role in the help was fictional, whilst Meryl Streep was based on a true story.

Check out Wikipedia for information on the Oscar's to find out how the voting is done and how your favorite is selected.  You can also check out this list on Wikipedia to see what oscar awards black's have won over the years and what they where nominated for.  Hattie McDaniel was the first black person to win a Academy award in 1940 for her role in Gone With The Win where she played mammy.  She won for Best Supporting Actress.  Sidney Poitier was the first black person to win for Best Actor in 1963 for Lillies of The Field where he played Hormer Smith.  Sidney Poitier's parent's are from Cat Island, Bahamas.  I'm proud to say that he is from the seem country that I'm from, where not from the seem island though.  There are a lot of talented people who live in The Bahamas, being that he was born in the United States.  He was fortunate to pursue Acting and made a successful career out of it.
