How To Shampoo Natural Hair Written Instructions
*Detangle your hair before you wash it with a good detangler. I use the afro detangler from
http://www.growafrohairlong.com/ Make sure you use a detangling comb, start detangling hair in small sections, starting from the ends and work your way up to the roots.
*Then put your hair in big loose braids, and then you will be ready to shampoo your hair. Make sure your shower head has good pressure, to get the dirt out of the scalp.
*Let water run over your head completely and then apply shampoo to hair, I currently use african black soap shampoo from http://www.butters-n-bars.com/ This shampoo is great for natural hair that is extremely difficult to manage. It will strengthen your hair and add moisture to it.
* Wash the scalp of each section of your hair thoroughly to remove build up, you can loose the braid to insure that each section is cleaned thoroughly. I don't do this any longer because it took to long and my hands were wrinkled afterwards and I also ran out of warm water. Gently work shampoo from top to bottom of braid. Shampoo 1 to 2 times.
*With the shampoo that I use above I didn't need a conditioner. If you chose to condition your hair, condition it applying conditioner over entire head, your hair should still be in the loose braids. You can also loose the braids and detangle at this point if you choose.
*Shake excess water out of hair while in the shower.
*Towel dry hair by gently squeezing away excess water, DO NOT RUB HAIR WITH TOWEL.
*Your hair should still be in the big braids, loose 1 section at a time, apply hair oil to scalp and hair, hair detangler, and moisturizer of your choice to your hair, detangle if needed and then rebraid.
Now you are ready to style your hair the way you like. If you are going to flat iron your hair, let it dry then flat iron hair I use Sedu Revolution Tourmaline Ionic Styling Iron 1" - Black flat iron using a heat protectant I use Fantasia Hair Polisher Heat Protector Straightening Serum 6 oz.. If you decide to twist it while wet then loose each section after applying the products listed above and start twisting.
