Black Barbie Dolls

New doll line aims to empower girls of all races

Most of us had a Barbie doll growing up, but what color, not similar to our skins.  Barbie was fun to play with anyway regardless of her one color which was white, she had it going on.  Perfect face, hair, body and so much style, well now there are barbies that represent the black women.  Isn't it great I can get a barbie for my daughter that represents her race and can give her the confidence to be black.  And we owe that to Stacey McBride-Irby a long-time Barbie lover and designer.  She has already created a Black Barbie collection called So In Style Barbie for Mattel a company that she has worked for for years. It even has a guy Barbie and a Barbie with curly textured hair.

After 25 years creating dolls for Mattel Stacey will be starting One World Doll Project with business partner Trent Daniel, a company that will create multicultural dolls.  If you want to read more on this article check it out here
